Its as economical as it should be. And I admit to enjoying making it. 2 days to get it just right, but thats nothing with a steady supply of tea. Im thinking, heavy use of alphas to flesh out the higher branches. They are really not too important, plus it can be a chance to do something clever!

Mate that looks really nicely done! Definitely should do alphas for higher up branches as the player wouldn't really be able to see them closely.
Tree looks very nice, the way it wraps itself around the tank but maybe to add few more roots or stretch some out so they're a little more spread out, i dunno.
But its looking gooooood. Can't wait till its textured, gonna be awesome.
nice, i think the gap between the treads and the base of the tank is too big though the wheels arent connected to anything, also make the roots come out wider maybe.
i think the tree is dwarfed by the dome and surroundings the tree needs to spread more and it looks to much like a hand picking the tank up the tree should really look as if its crushing it also i think the tank needs a bit more detail as it looks to much like a toy.
